ABOUT OUR APPROACH
More than a massage. A clinical approach to how your body moves and feels.
Myotherapy is an evidence-based, hands-on therapy that assesses and treats musculoskeletal pain and dysfunction. Where relaxation or remedial massage works on the surface, myotherapy goes deeper — identifying the root cause of your pain, not just managing the symptom.
01 Evidence-Based
Myotherapy is grounded in anatomy, physiology and current pain science. We'll always be honest about what to expect.
02 Health Fund Rebates
Myotherapy is claimable on most private health extras. Bring your card and we'll process your rebate on the spot.
03 Full Assessment
Every session begins with a thorough assessment — not a generic treatment. Your body changes, and so does our approach.
04 Flexible Appointments
Flexible appointment times to fit around your life. No waiting weeks to be seen.
WHAT WE TREAT
Myotherapy treats the body's patterns,
not just the pain.
Pain is rarely random. It has patterns, causes and contributing factors. Elena's clinical assessment process identifies what's actually driving your symptoms — so treatment addresses the root, not just the surface.
Chronic Pain & Tension
That relentless tightness in your neck, shoulders or back that never fully releases — even after a massage. Myotherapy identifies the underlying pattern and breaks it.
Headaches & Migraines
Many headaches originate from muscular tension in the neck, jaw and upper back. Myotherapy — particularly trigger point therapy — can significantly reduce frequency.
Postural pain & desk-related tension
Sitting for hours changes how your body holds itself. Myotherapy addresses the imbalances that build up — before they become something more serious.
Sport Injuries & Recovery
Whether you're a runner, a gym-goer or a weekend warrior — myotherapy supports injury recovery, prevents recurrence and keeps your body performing at its best.
Joint Pain & Restriction
Stiffness, tightness and limited range of motion in the hips, knees, shoulders or ankles. Myotherapy improves joint function by addressing the surrounding soft tissue.
Jaw Pain & TMJ dysfunction
Teeth grinding, jaw clenching and TMJ pain are incredibly common — and incredibly responsive to myotherapy treatment.
Pregnancy related pain
As your body changes through pregnancy, myotherapy offers safe, targeted relief for back pain, hip pain, sciatica and pelvic girdle discomfort.
Nerve pain & referral patterns
Pain that travels, burns or radiates — often originating from muscular trigger points rather than nerve damage. Myotherapy can be profoundly effective here.
OUR TREATMENTS
What happens in a
myotherapy session?
01
Dry Needling
Fine needles are inserted into trigger points — tight, tender spots in the muscle — to release tension and reduce pain. Highly effective for chronic muscular pain and often produces results that hands-on work alone can't achieve.
02
Myofascial Release
Gentle, sustained pressure applied to the fascia — the connective tissue surrounding your muscles — to release restrictions and restore movement. Deeply effective for postural issues and long-held tension patterns.
03
Trigger point therapy
Direct pressure applied to trigger points to release the muscular knots that refer pain to other areas of the body. This is often the key to resolving pain that seems to 'travel' or doesn't respond to other treatments.
04
Cupping therapy
Suction cups placed on the skin create a negative pressure that lifts the tissue, increases blood flow and releases deep fascial restrictions. Particularly effective for back, shoulder and hip tension.
05
Exercise prescription
Myotherapy isn't just about what happens on the table. Elena provides targeted exercises and movement guidance to support your recovery between sessions and prevent recurrence.
WHAT TO EXPECT
Your first visit to Meraki
01
Before you arrive
A short intake form covering your full symptom picture, health history, medications and what you most want to address. Five minutes that make a real difference to your first session.
02
Your assessment
Every first session begins with a thorough postural and movement assessment. Your therapist observes how your body moves, where it compensates and what the underlying patterns are — not just where it hurts.
03
Your first treatment
Tailored to what your body needs on the day. Your therapist might use a combination of dry needling, massage, myofascial release and cupping in a single session — always explaining what she's doing and why.
04
Your ongoing plan
You'll leave with a clear understanding of what your therapist found, what she treated and a realistic plan for how many sessions you're likely to need. No vague non-answers — just clarity.
