Do you get those 2pm sugar cravings? I know i do!
Instead of grabbing a block of cadbury chocolate, snacking on that all afternoon, leaving you feeling guilty for the rest of the day, make these bliss balls and you will find you will be more satisfied with this healthier and yummy alternative.
With this recipe you can make anywhere from 20-30 bliss balls which will last you a couple of weeks or just one week if you have a family or just really really hungry!
You will find that making these is not only a satisfying feeling but also will bring you joy for not caving in to those unhealthier choices.
o get started you will need a vitamizer of some sort or nutribullet if you have one to ground the almonds and dates.
Ingredients:
2 cups of dates (soaked in one cup of water)
1 cup of organic Cacao
4 servings of your choice of protein powder
3 cups of almond meal
1.5 cups of buckwheat kernels
1 tsp of coconut oil
3/4 rice malt syrup
1 tsp of cinnamon
1 tsp of pink salt
1 tsp of your choice of maca powder, mesquite powder or chia seeds
1/4 cups of roughly chopped almonds
Shredded coconut
Method:
Soak the dates for 30 minutes (best overnight in the fridge)
Blend the dates in a vitamizer for the pureed texture
Add in the organic cacao and protein powder and mix together
Add in the almond meal and bit of water so the mixture isn't too dry
Add in the buckwheat kernels
Add in the tablespoon of melted coconut oil
Add in the cinnamon and salt
Add in the rice malt syrup and keep mixing to get a fluffy texture and the mixture is all sticking together
Add in your choice of powder or seeds to taste
Once everything is sticking together and mixed together you can then start rolling them into balls and then roll in the bowl of shredded coconut to coat the balls
Keep taste testing to ensure you love the mixture. Add in more of a desired food to equal your taste buds!
If you are allergic to nuts then swap out the almond meal for coconut flour and you will get more of a creamy taste.
Enjoy the deliciousness!
xx
